We are a very small CSA-farm and produce vegetables (90%) and fruits and berries (10%).

I'm Geert (51 yo) and I am a cook and a farmer. I grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and vegetables and will have a chicken coop next spring. I use part of the produce in my own catering and sell the rest in directly to consumers (weekly vegetable boxes). We also grow and sell flowers.
In my house, you will find me, my daughter (13 yo part time) and my son (19 yo not very often). I don't have pets.
Daily activities are planting, sowing, weeding and harvesting. We regularly do some small repairs (greenhouses, flat tire of a wheelbarrow, ...). We try to make a fresh lunch and take time to eat and enjoy. Sometimes we bake bread in de woodfired oven. The house is in biking distance from my house. L'orto e la cucina means: the vegetable garden and the kitchen. We combine growing food, cooking (classes & pot lucks) en eating together.
Breakfast is at your own time and in your own portions. On working days, we have lunch together. Diner is always together. For preparing lunch and diner, we take turns. Meals are based on seasonal vegetables in the farm, the rest we buy in a shop nearby. Meals are mostly vegetarian, meat and cheese can be options but mostly not mixed in the dish. Accomodation is in the well renovated attic of my house, bathroom and toilet are shared. In the summertime, you can also stay/sleep in a yurt on the farm.
My daughter likes swimming, knitting and drawing. I myself like cooking ( I'm a cook), reading and being outside. The farm is at 5km from the city center of Leuven (an vivid city with a lot of activities). There is a lake where you can have a dive and you can easily take a train to Mechelen of Brussels

Nous avons passé 3 jours et 2 nuits dans une yourte chez Geert.
Nous avons du construire la Yourte tous ensemble (moi et mon garçon de 7 ans), c'était assez difficile mais heureusement Geert avait aussi une chambre de disponible dans le cas où cela n'allait pas du tout.
La yourte est encore à améliorer (isolation et stabilité) mais sinon c'est une très belle idée d'avoir ce type de logement. C'était une première expérience pour Geert aussi et nous comprenons donc bien qu'il doive encore faire des ajustements.
Mon fils de 7 ans était complètement fan de l'endroit, il a pu beaucoup jouer car Geert a été fort compréhensif par rapport à sa participation réduite. Néanmoins, Geert lui trouvait des tâches adaptés à son âge et il a pu apprendre une dizaine d'activités agricoles différentes (tamisage de la terre, plantation en godet/pleine terre, confection des paniers bios, arrosages, .... ).
Il y a beaucoup de tâches différentes à faire au choix de chacun, il est facile de communiquer avec Geert fort à l'écoute des besoins.
Pour ma part, Geert a aussi été compréhensif car je me suis faite un lumbago (suite à la construction de la yourte sans doute) le premier jour. J'étais donc moins efficace mais cela aussi Geert a pu le comprendre.
