Welcome to Vert d'Iris, organic and urban vegetable cooperative in Anderlecht, near Brussels!
The whole team and I will be delighted to welcome you to our 2 organic agroforestry gardens: Beets enz. and InnRGreen! I am Fred, 58 years old French, father of 3 children, passionate of ecological agriculture. After studying agronomy and written a PhD in institutional economics, I founded this cooperative in 2013. With employees, apprentices, trainees, volunteers and wwoofers, we grow and sell nearly a hundred varieties of fruits, vegetables, aromatic plants and edible flowers, in the ground and in a glass greenhouse of 700m ², on 2 lands totaling about 1.5 hectares. Everything is organic, local and ultra-fresh (picked on demand) for an exceptional tasting quality! Our activities are many and varied: training in ecological horticulture, pedagogy and animation, installation of growing containers in recycled plastic, tending orchards of old varieties, processing of our fruits and vegetables, recovery of organic waste for compost, aquaponics ... A help for horticultural work and daily tasks (entertainment, cooking, accommodation) is always welcome, to adapt to the skills and motivations of everyone! 3 caravans welcome the woofers on our vegetable gardens, for a minimum duration of 1 month. In spring and summer, we add tents to increase our housing capacity. The reception of wwoofers has always reserved us nice moments of sharing and beautiful meetings, so we will be delighted to meet you. Toute l'équipe et moi-même serons ravis de vous accueillir sur nos 2 potagers agroforestiers bio : Betteraves enz. et InnRGreen ! Je suis Fred, Français de 51ans, père de 3 enfants, passionné d'agriculture écologique et de VTT. Après des études d'ingénieur agronome et un doctorat en économie institutionnelle, j'ai fondé cette coopérative en 2013. Avec salariés, apprentis, stagiaires, bénévoles et wwoofeurs, nous cultivons et vendons près d'une 100aine de variétés de fruits, légumes, plantes aromatiques et fleurs comestibles, en pleine terre et sous une serre en verre de 700m², sur 2 terrains totalisant 1.37 hectares. Tout est bio, local et ultra-frais (cueilli à la demande) pour une qualité gustative exceptionnelle ! Nos activités sont nombreuses et variées : formation professionnelle en horticulture écologique, pédagogie et animation, installation et entretien de cultures en bac, reconstitution de vergers de variétés anciennes, transformation de nos fruits et légumes, récupération de déchets organiques pour compost, aquaponie. Une aide pour les travaux horticoles et les tâches quotidiennes (animations, cuisine, hébergement) est toujours bienvenue, à adapter aux compétences et motivations de chacun ! Toute l'équipe cuisine et mange ensemble le midi, repas vegan ou végétarien. 3 caravanes accueillent les woofeurs sur nos potagers, pour une durée minimum d'1 mois. Au printemps et en été, nous rajoutons des tentes pour augmenter notre capacité de logement. L'accueil de wwoofeurs nous a toujours réservé des chouettes moments de partage et de belles rencontres, donc nous serons ravis de faire votre connaissance. .

Het hele team en ik heten u van harte welkom in onze 2 biologische agro-tuinen: Beets enz. en InnRGreen! Ik ben Fred, 51 jaar oud Frans, vader van 3 kinderen, gepassioneerd door ecologische landbouw en VTT. Na mijn studie agronomie en doctoraat in de institutionele economie, heb ik deze coöperatie opgericht in 2013. Met medewerkers, leerlingen, trainees, vrijwilligers en wwoofers, groeien en verkopen we bijna honderd soorten fruit, groenten, aromatische planten en eetbare bloemen, in de grond en in een glazen kas van 700m ², op 2 gronden in totaal 1,37 hectare. Alles is biologisch, lokaal en ultra-vers (op afroep geplukt) voor een uitzonderlijke smaakkwaliteit! Onze activiteiten zijn talrijk en gevarieerd: professionele opleiding in ecologische tuinbouw, pedagogie en animatie, installatie en onderhoud van gewassen in vaten, reconstructie van boomgaarden van oude variëteiten, verwerking van onze groenten en fruit, terugwinning van organisch afval voor compost, aquaponics ... Een hulp voor tuinbouwwerk en dagelijkse taken (entertainment, koken, accommodatie) is altijd welkom, om zich aan te passen aan de vaardigheden en motivaties van iedereen! Het hele team kookt en eet samen lunch, veganistische of vegetarische maaltijd. 3 caravans verwelkomen de woofers op onze moestuinen, voor een minimale duur van 1 maand. In het voorjaar en de zomer voegen we tenten toe om onze wooncapaciteit te vergroten. De receptie van wwoofeurs heeft ons altijd mooie momenten van delen en prachtige ontmoetingen voorbehouden, dus we zullen u graag ontmoeten

Das gesamte Team und ich würden uns freuen, Sie in unseren 2 biologischen Agroforstgärten begrüßen zu dürfen: Beets enz. und InnRGreen! Ich bin Fred, 51 Jahre alt, Franzose, Vater von 3 Kindern, leidenschaftlich für ökologische Landwirtschaft und VTT. Nach meinem Studium der Agrarwissenschaften und der Promotion in institutioneller Ökonomie habe ich diese Genossenschaft im Jahr 2013 gegründet. Mit Mitarbeitern, Auszubildenden, Auszubildenden, Freiwilligen und Wwoofern bauen und verkaufen wir fast hundert verschiedene Obst- und Gemüsesorten, Gemüse, aromatische Pflanzen und essbare Blumen, im Boden und in einem Glasgewächshaus von 700m ², auf 2 Ländern mit insgesamt 1,37 Hektar. Alles ist biologisch, lokal und ultra-frisch (auf Wunsch gepflückt) für eine außergewöhnlich geschmackvolle Qualität! Unsere Aktivitäten sind vielfältig: Fortbildung in ökologischem Gartenbau, Pädagogik und Animation, Installation und Pflege von Kulturpflanzen in Bottichen, Rekonstitution von Obstplantagen alter Sorten, Verarbeitung von Obst und Gemüse, Rückgewinnung organischer Abfälle für Kompost, Aquaponik ... Eine Hilfe Für die Gartenarbeit und die täglichen Aufgaben (Unterhaltung, Kochen, Unterkunft) ist es immer willkommen, sich an die Fähigkeiten und Motivationen aller anzupassen! Das gesamte Team kocht und isst zusammen, vegane oder vegetarische Mahlzeit. 3 Karawanen begrüßen die Tieftöner in unseren Gemüsegärten für einen Zeitraum von mindestens 1 Monat. Im Frühjahr und Sommer fügen wir Zelte hinzu, um unsere Wohnkapazität zu erhöhen. I had a positive experience in Vert d'Iris. I really recommend to take initiative and participate in the various activities, whether in the potager or in the kitchen. It's a nice place to meet people from different backgrounds and countries, and even though I didn't speak French, I felt very confortable.

My time at the Vert d'Iris International was an amazing experience! I enjoyed working in the beautiful greenhouse with friendly, open volunteers. The place is located in a beautiful area, which makes it even more peaceful and enjoyable.

Frederic and Deborah and the rest of the team are great people. WOOFFers who come here should be ready to take initiative and having consulted with Frederic or Deborah, to get on with the job. There is a lot to do - weeding, picking, storage, drying, mending things destroyed by the storm in January. I take my hat off to those who run Vert d'Iris, and wish them well with the composting side of things, called Noir d' Iris. A great experience, even for me as an older person (63).

The people are very nice. The director, the interns, the volunteers there...
I did not stay over but went for a day since I live closed by. I helped prepare lunch for 10-12 with the chef, and the other girls. It was very nice. We had good food from the farm and from products donated from biosupermarkets. It's great to cook and share a meal with nice people.
I will come back again to do volunteering work, I hope.
