We are two gay men who have developed a hybrid farming/bio-food/recycling/hosting business which started in North Holland and moved to Belgium 7 years ago. We grow edible plants, fruit bushes (and some flowers) and sell them on the farm as well as markets and bio/garden events. We make products such as teas, dried herbs, chutnies and jams using our own produce, and some from local small growers. Our bosses are two cats. We have received two sustainability awards, 'Duurzame Helden'. Every day is different and activity changes a lot between seasons. In Spring it includes plant production in the greenhouse, and tending to the garden where we show plants (herbs) and guide visitors around to show what can be achieved in their own garden. We are NOT allowed to give health advice!! Our farm shop is open 5 days a week and we typically attend 5-6 farmer's markets and plant-sales each week. We have a double bedroom in the main building which is not wheelchair accessible. We have toilets and showers which are usually shared. Meals are flexible and not normally vegan. We have a second kitchen available for those who prefer to cook for themselves. We are too busy to have hobbies, although one of us is a fan of Ren (i.e. Renegade book-club member) and one is keen on walking around historic parks and estates. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists ('rolling hills') and we are 100 metres from a well-established local tourist spot. We do a weekly trip through Netherlands and Germany for grocery shopping! Wij zijn Nederlands/Engelstalig. Customers and visitors speak (in order) Dutch, English, French, German.
